An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded French One-Panel "Grande" Movie Poster (1p; measures 47" x 63" [119 x 160 cm]) (Learn More)

Freiwild (literally translates to "Free Wild"), the 1928 Holger-Madsen German silent romantic melodrama starring Evelyn Holt, Fred Louis Lerch, Bruno Kastner, John Loder, and Max Hansen. It appears this movie was never released in the U.S. If anyone knows more about this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Note that the star of this movie, Evelyn Holt, was a silent German actress in the 1920s. She was the daughter of an English journalist, and her birth name was "Sklarz". She had been trained as a singer, so she had no trouble transitioning to sound movies in the early 1930s, but there were questions about her father by the Nazi regime, who considered Sklarz "Jewish sounding", and even though she was blonde haired and blue eyed, she was not allowed to make more movies after 1933. She worked in an opera in Berlin for a few years, but when the Nazis came to full power, she married an American publisher and moved to the U.S., and completely quit show business. She passed away in 2001, at the age of 92.

Artist: Jan du mon
Important Added Info: Note that this French one-panel was printed in 2 sections designed to overlap.

Condition: fair to good. The poster is fragile and it is entirely separated down the middle. It has tears and tiny paper loss on parts of some foldlines. The poster is in need of expert professional restoration, but the poster is mostly "all there", and after linenbacking by a talented professional, the poster will look fantastic, and it will likely require little paint restoration within the image.
