An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Chapter #1 (Mystery of the Cosmic Ray) One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More)

Jack Armstong: The All-American Boy, the 1947 Wallace Fox science fiction (sci-fi) action adventure serial ("Lost in the Outer World!"; "Adapted from the radio feature"; "An amazing adventure begins!"; "A Columbia Serial") starring John Hart (in the title role "as Jack" Armstrong), Rosemary LaPlanche ("as Betty"), Joe Brown Jr. ("as Billy"), Pierre Watkin ("as Uncle Jim"), and Claire James. Note that "Jack Armstrong" was created as a radio character in 1933, as the teenage young man that every boy longed to be. He was true blue and ate Wheaties, and his show lasted all the way until 1951. An interesting footnote is that Hanna-Barbera worked on an animated TV show based on Jack Armstrong, but they could not buy the rights, and it was revamped into "Jonny Quest" in 1964

What IS linenbacking? Learn More

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster had small paper loss at the crossfolds and minor wear on the folds. It had a number of pinholes around the edges, including one at the bottom of the eye of the boy at top right, and a few other pinholes scattered in the image. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above.
