An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) China Girl, the 1942 Henry Hathaway pre-World War II (WWII) military newsreel cameraman interracial romance romantic melodrama ("There's action every pounding moment!"; "The whole Jap army on his trail... a bewitching beauty in his heart!"; "Produced and Written by Ben Hecht"; although the movie was written after Pearl Harbor, it was set before the U.S. entered the war, and it is clear that writer/producer Ben Hecht was aiming to further inflame anti-Japanese sentiment in the U.S.; Montgomery is a newsreel photographer covering the war against Japan in China and Burma, and he falls for a half-Chinese girl played by strikingly beautiful Gene Tierney) starring Gene Tierney, George Montgomery, Lynn Bari, Victor McLaglen, Alan Baxter, Sig Ruman, Philip Ahn, and Robert Blake NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: good. There is a small area of paper loss in Tierney's cheek left of the top crossfold that has been crudely repaired with paper and tape from the front and back of the poster. There is a tear in the middle of the top edge of the poster that has been repaired with tape from the back. There is some writing on the back of the poster that bleeds through to the front in Montgomery's credit at upper right. There are several pairs of staple holes scattered throughout the poster with a few small tears from rough removal. Other than the paper loss and tape repair in Tierney's image, the poster's defects are fairly minor! Learn More about condition grades
