An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) a circa 1942 stock poster for the Vitaphone Broadway Brevities musical short subject series ("Comedy, Music, Sports, Novelty, Drama, Dancing, Mystery") created by Warner Bros. for use for all entries of their "Broadway Brevities" series, with artwork scenes from typical entries in the series, including one of a circus clown with a small dog, race horses on a race track, waterskiers, a horror-looking spooky character, divers, and high-wire trapeze artists. This particular stock poster is undated, but, based on the litho number, it would seem to surely date from 1942 or 1943. Theaters would order this poster, which had a large blank rectangle in the bottom left. They would be sent a series of large paper snipes with the titles of specific entries of the series, and they could paste in each snipe as needed, thus getting many posters for the price of one. Sometimes stock posters are found with blank snipe areas, sometimes with a printed snipe attached, and sometimes with a name handwritten in the snipe area. This particular poster does not have anything in the bottom blank rectangular area. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: good to very good. The poster was folded in half an extra time resulting in a light vertical foldline at left and right.
