An Original Vintage Theatrical 8 1/4" x 10" [21 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More)

Mae Murray (born Marie Adrienne Koenig) was an actress from the 1910s to the 1930s, who was nicknamed "The Girl with the Bee-Stung Lips". She was a major silent star at MGM in the 1910s and 1920s, but in 1926, she married a former Russian nobleman named David Mdivani, who advised her to leave MGM, and that was a disastrous move, and after he helped drain her fortune, he divorced her in 1933, and remarkably, he won custody of their daughter! She lived most of her later life in extreme poverty, and passed away in 1965 at the age of 75. Some of her movies include: The Merry Widow, Valencia (in the title role), and Circe, The Enchantress
Important Added Info: Note that this still shows Mae Murray very happy with her new husband, Prince David Mdivani. If she could have known how the marriage would go, she would not have been so happy! Long before the Kardashians, there were the Mdivanis (known in the tabloids as "The Marrying Mdivanis"), a group of Russian siblings who were nobility from before the Russian Revolution. There were three brothers and two sisters, and all of them marry either famous actors or heirs to massive estates, and in every case, they helped their spouses run through their entire fortune, and then divorced them and found someone else! For a full background of this outrageous family, go to http://wwd.com/eye/people/mdivanis-the-marrying-kind-3595202/ Also note that this still measures 8 1/4" x 10" [21 x 25 cm].

Condition: good to very good. There is a 1" tear at top center that was repaired with tape from the back. There are some creases and a few dot stains around the edges. The image area is in nice condition.
