An Original Vintage Theatrical Autographed 8 1/4" x 10" [21 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Jean Porter was an actress from the 1930s to the 1950s. She was born in Texas in 1922 and moved to Hollywood in 1939, and her young age and youthful appearance led her to be cast as a teenager in a number of movies, mostly B-movies. In 1946, she made "Till the End of Time", which was directed by Edward Dmytryk, who was 14 years her senior, but they had a romance, and two years later, they married and had three children. However, not long after they were married, Dmytryk became one of the "Hollywood Ten", as a former communist, and he was unable to work in Hollywood, and he moved to England. However, he returned to the U.S. in 1951 and was put in jail for six months. But afterwards, he returned to directing. Jean Porter remained loyal to him throughout this major ordeal, and they remained married until 1999, when he passed away at the age of 90. She passed away in 2018 at the age of 95. Important Added Info: Note that this still has been personally autographed (signed) by Jean Porter! Also note that this still measures 8 1/4" x 10" [21 x 25 cm]. Note that our consignor purchased a collection of autographed stills that were collected by Leonard Sorgi, who was a unit manager for ABC for shows like The Soupy Sales Show, The Jerry Mahony Show, and many others. He was also Unit Manager for the Academy Awards for a number of years, and during his long and varied career, he met many celebrities and obtained autographs from them in person (often personalized to him).
