An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures 3 1/4" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More) The Raven, the 1915 Charles Brabin silent biographical horror melodrama ("A fascinating tragic photoplay in six acts") starring Henry B. Walthall ("in a reincarnation of Edgar Allan Poe"), Warda Howard, Ernest Maupain, Eleanor Thompson, and Marian Skinner. You likely associate Edgar Allan Poe's "The Raven" either with Karloff and Lugosi in 1935, or with Vincent Price in 1963, but decades before was this super early version, where Henry B. Walthall actually PLAYS Edgar Allan Poe! We have only ever seen a glass slide from this version, and we would love to see additional movie paper! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). This slide is the kind that has two panes of glass that are taped together with black tape around all four edges (front and back), typical of many older glass slides. We have provided a high quality scan of the image, but we have not taken a photo of the slide, because there would really be very little to see! Condition: good to very good. The black tape is loose from the top and bottom of the slide, with small paper loss. There is slight smudging on the glass (it is not very distracting, and it could likely be cleaned).
