Date Sold 3/5/2019Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. A 1978 Re-Release Theatrical Linenbacked French One-Panel "Grande" Movie Poster (1p; measures 45 1/2" x 61 3/4" [116 x 157 cm]) (Learn More) Come Rubare la Corona d'Inghilterra (also released in Italy as "Argoman Superdiabolico", and released in the U.S. as "The Incredible Paris Incident"), the 1967 Sergio Grieco Italian Paris France science fiction (sci-fi) masked super hero action adventure thriller starring Roger Browne, Dominique Boschero, Eduardo Fajardo, Nadia Marlowa, Richard Peters, Edward Douglas, Andrea Bosic, Tom Felleghy, Dario De Grassi, Lawrence Mills, Frank Richardson, and Dick Palmer. Note that we have seen posters for this movie with both of the above Italian titles, and wildly different images, which make them look like they are two different movies, but they are not! It seems quite possible that one of the titles is a re-release title, but of course, it could have been released two different ways originally. If anyone knows more about this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that when this movie was first released in France in 1968, it was titled "Le Diabolique Superman", and the word "Superman" is not especially prominent, and the character does not look all that much like Superman. However, for this 1978 re-release, which was right after the huge success of the 1978 U.S. "Superman" movie, the film was re-released in France and was re-titled to "Superman contre les robots", but with the "Superman" much larger than the rest, and the character now has a flowing cape and muscles like Superman's. We wonder how D.C. Comics felt about this and if they threatened to sue (perhaps they did, which would account for why we have never before auctioned this poster!). What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good to fine. The poster was never folded. it had a few very minor creases and scuffs.
