Date Sold 8/11/2015Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Tri-Folded Billboard Advertising Poster (measures approximately 9' x 20') (Learn More) Nash Airflyte was a model of automobile sold by Nash Motors from 1949 to 1954. The Airflyte was the first car of an advanced design introduced by the company after the World War II. Theories on reducing automobile body drag resulted in a smooth shape and enclosed front fenders. A popular advertising slogan featured a depressed man saying "And I could have gotten a Nash Airflyte". Nash Motors was based in Kenosha, Wisconsin, and pioneered important innovations such as a heating and ventilation system (which is still used today) in 1938, unibody construction in 1941, seat belts in 1950, a U.S. built compact car in 1950, and muscle cars in 1957 If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this billboard advertising poster was printed in 12 sections designed to overlap. Also note this poster was folded in a way that makes it resemble a tri-folded six-sheet (only much larger, of course, as there are more sections). But the length and width of the folded poster is just about the same as that of a folded six-sheet or three-sheet. This means that this poster needs to be sent in an oversized flat package, which will measure roughly 16" x 38", and approximately 2" high, and it will cost more to send than a regular sized package. Condition: fair to good. There is discoloration scattered throughout the poster from exposure to moisture. Please see our super-sized image to get a good sense of the condition of this item prior to placing a bid and please do not bid unless you can accept the defects described above, or you are willing to pay to have them properly restored.
