An Original Vintage Theatrical Kraftbacked Tri-Folded Three-Sheet Movie Poster (3sh; measures 41" x 81" [104 x 206 cm]) (Learn More) The Whole Town's Talking (released in other English-speaking countries as "Passport to Fame"), the classic 1935 John Ford romantic mistaken identity crime comedy ("'You're the man they want! But you're the man they'll get!'"; "The most exciting picture in a decade... Inspired by the biggest front page sensation in recent years"; "Blazing out of the headlines... Crashing across the screen.. The most exciting story in years."; "Based on a story by W.R. Burnett"; "Screen play by Jo Swerling and Robert Riskin") starring Edward G. Robinson ("in the best picture he ever made"; in a dual role, both as a notorious gangster, and as a mild-mannered man who looks just like the gangster and is mistaken for him, and Jean Arthur is delightful!; "In the Best Picture He Ever Made"), Jean Arthur, Arthur Hohl, James Donlan, Wallace Ford, Donald Meek, and Paul Harvey NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this three-sheet was printed in 2 sections designed to overlap. Also note that this poster has been kraftbacked, which means it was backed onto a brown paper soon after it was printed (this process is called "kraft-backing", and posters with it are called "kraft-backed"). One could have it professionally removed from the kraft paper and linenbacked, and it would look great! Finally, note this three-sheet poster was tri-folded only (which means there is one less vertical machine fold than usual). This means the poster has a significantly lesser number of folds than with three-sheets folded in the "regular" way, which is nice! Tri-folded three-sheets need to be sent in an oversized flat package, which measures roughly 13" x 30", so they cost more to send than regularly folded three-sheets, especially if they are sent to non-U.S. addresses. Condition: fair. The poster was kraftbacked (see above). There is discoloration scattered throughout the poster from exposure to moisture. There is paper loss around the edges of the poster (including some of the kraftbacking, especially at lower left.) There is wear and other defects scattered in various areas. Please see our super-sized image to get a good sense of the condition of this item prior to placing a bid and please do not bid unless you can accept the defects described above, or you are willing to pay to have them properly restored.
