An Unfolded Swiss Advertising Poster (measures 35 1/2" x 50 1/2" [90 x 128 cm]) (Learn More) Schuster Teppiche (literally translates to "Schuster Carpets"), the 1917 Swiss advertising poster promoting the purchase of Schuster carpets and rugs, and featuring Richard Schaupp art of an Arabian man with an ornate Persian carpet behind him Artist: Richard Schaupp Important Added Info: Note that this is an extremely rare poster. We have never auctioned one in all our years of auctioning! Not only that, it is over 100 years old, so it is an antique, and not a collectible poster (antiques are usually defined as being over 100 years old)! Note that this poster must be sent in a tube that is over 32" long (which is why it is in this set of auctions). You can tell how long the tube will need to be by adding 2 inches to the shorter dimension of the length or width (so 40x60s need to be sent in a 42 inch long tube, etc). Most of these posters (with the notable exception of paper banners) CAN be combined in the same tube together, with a few exceptions. Bear in mind that a very long tube (42 inches or longer) will cost a lot more to send than a 30" tube, so bear that in mind before bidding on this poster. Condition: good to very good. There is a 3 1/2" tear at upper center with some paper loss (see our image). There is a smaller tear at center right and at lower center, and those three tears are repaired with high-quality restoration tape from the back. There are a few lesser tears in a few portions of the edges but overall these edge defects are not overly distracting from the large artwork image which is in pretty nice condition!
