An Original Vintage Theatrical Uruguayan Movie Herald (measures 5" x 7 1/4" [13 x 18 cm]; 4 pages) (Learn More) Camino del infierno (literally translates to "Road to Hell"), the 1931 Richard Harlan drug addiction romantic melodrama starring Juan Torena, Maria Alba, Carlos Villarias, Ralph Navarro, and Carmen Rodriguez. This was a Spanish version of "The Man Who Came Back", made by Fox in 1931 and directed by Raoul Walsh. Universal did the same thing with "Dracula" in 1931. They filmed the movie twice, once in English, and once in Spanish, with two entirely different casts, U.S. actors for the English version and mostly Latin actors for the Spanish version, obviously for release in Spanish speaking countries, and the same was done with this movie (the English language version starred Janet Gaynor and Charles Farrell). If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we have never before had ANY movie paper from this early drug addiction movie before! Please note that Uruguayan heralds, like Spanish heralds, were printed in large quantities, and then sent to individual theaters in Uruguay, and they would have the backs of them overprinted or stamped with their theater name and specific play dates. But because a movie might play in Uruguay for a period of a year or two (traveling from theater to theater), there is no guarantee that the date overprinted on the back of the herald is the same as the date that the herald was first printed (and the date that the movie first played in Uruguay). We strongly suspect that most movies did not reach Uruguay until a year or two after their first release in other countries, but we can't say for certain. Therefore, we don't list the date overprinted on the back of a herald as the date of the herald (or the date of the movie's first release in Uruguay) unless we know from some other source that the later year was when the movie first played in Uruguay. If it is important to you that the date on the herald is the same date as when the movie first played in its country of origin, then please look at our image of the back of this herald to see if there is a different date printed on it. Condition: good to very good. The inside two pages of the herald were printed with the red off register, resulting in blurred images (see our image). The front and back covers were printed correctly, but there is some ink transfer from the printing on the reverse side (again, see our images). Learn More about condition grades
