Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" Movie Still (Learn More) Lady in the Lake, the 1947 Robert Montgomery detective mystery crime film noir ("MGM presents a Revolutionary motion picture The most amazing since Talkies began!"; "You and Robert Montgomery solve a murder mystery together!"; "MGM presents You and Robert Montgomery in Lady in the Lake"; "Based on the novel by Raymond Chandler"; this was a "gimmick" movie; the lead actor is not shown, and the entire movie is seen from his point of view!; the only time you see him is in mirrors; this was a pretty lame idea, and it is not surprising it was only done once!; oddly, MGM shows Montgomery in the lobby cards; perhaps they were already afraid of the wacky premise prior to its release!) starring Robert Montgomery (as Phillip Marlowe), Audrey Totter, Lloyd Nolan, Tom Tully, Leon Ames, and Jayne Meadows NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this was the movie with a "gimmick" (where the entire movie was shot from the perspective of star Robert Montgomery, who is only seen in mirrors!). This still well illustrates the gimmick, as Audrey Totter is staring into the camera as she prepares a drink for the "invisible" Montgomery! Condition: very good to fine. There is a minor 2" thin crease in the glass and shoulder of the woman and there is a tiny indentation in her elbow at left.
