An Original 1957 (from the first release of this movie in Belgium) Vintage Theatrical Folded Belgian Movie Poster (measures 13 3/4" x 19" [35 x 48 cm]) (Learn More)

II Mostro Dell'isola (released in the U.S. only on TV in 1957 as "The Island Monster"), the 1953 Roberto Bianchi Montero Italian drug crime thriller starring Boris Karloff, Franca Marzi, Renato Vicario, Jole Fierro, Carlo Duce, and Patrizia Remiddi. Note that this was a low budget Italian crime melodrama that was filmed in Italy and, as was done at that time, non-Italian speaking actors were dubbed into Italian, and in this case, that meant Boris Karloff's voice was not used in the released movie. When it finally was released in the U.S. in 1957 (on TV only), they tried to help create an audience by calling it "The Island Monster", so that it would sound like a horror movie, but it is not. Worse yet, a Karloff impersonator was hired to dub his voice back into English! So the movie is an interesting curiosity, and finding movie paper from it is incredibly difficult (there was likely no movie paper created for the U.S. TV release).

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this poster has been trimmed and it now measures 13 3/4" x 19" [35 x 48 cm]. Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube.

Condition: good. The poster originally had a blank top that was neatly trimmed off (this is commonly done with Belgian posters, similar to how the blank top is trimmed off of U.S. window cards). There is some creasing throughout the poster from it being oddly folded at one time. There is a title snipe at upper right as well as a snipe across the bottom and a tax stamps in the lower right edge of the poster. There is some writing and a stamp on the back of the poster that does not appear to have any effect on the front.
