An Unfolded German Travel Poster (measures 33" x 48 1/4" [84 x 123 cm]) (Learn More) Norddeutscher Lloyd (known in English as North German Lloyd) was a German shipping company which was founded by Hermann Henrich Meier and Eduard Crusemann in Bremen, Germany in 1857. It developed into one of the most important German shipping companies of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and was instrumental in the economic development of Bremen and Bremerhaven. In 1970, the company merged with Hamburg America Line (HAPAG) to form Hapag-Lloyd AG. Artist: Feldtmann Important Added Info: Note that poster was once folded but it will be rolled and sent in a tube. Note that this poster must be sent in a tube that is over 32" long (which is why it is in this set of auctions). You can tell how long the tube will need to be by adding 2 inches to the shorter dimension of the length or width (so 40x60s need to be sent in a 42 inch long tube, etc). Most of these posters (with the notable exception of paper banners) CAN be combined in the same tube together, with a few exceptions. Bear in mind that a very long tube (42 inches or longer) will cost a lot more to send than a 30" tube, so bear that in mind before bidding on this poster. Condition: good to very good. The poster has several relatively small tears around the edges and most are backed by restoration tape (but a few were once backed with some tape that slightly bleeds through to the front - see our image). It has tape behind the right blank border that slightly bleeds through to the front (it was not put there for any restoration purpose).
