An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) I Married a Witch, the classic 1942 Rene Clair witchcraft romantic love triangle time travel fantasy comedy ("No man can resist her!"; "I Married a Witch ...and I'm not complaining would you?"; "Based upon a story by Thorne Smith completed by Norman Watson"; "She gets what she wants with.... Hex appeal!"; a complicated but enjoyable tale of a 17th century witch who was burned at the stake with her father, and she returns to the 20th century with her father to get revenge on the descendant of the man who burned them, but, through a very complicated process, she ends up falling in love with him instead!) starring Fredric March, Veronica Lake, Robert Benchley, Susan Hayward, Cecil Kellaway, and Ann Carter NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had very minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were well restored, OR it had some minor defects that were not completely restored, and are somewhat noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). The poster had holes at the bottom crossfolds, many creases and tiny tears down much of the vertical foldline. There were pinholes, tears, creases, smudges, and small areas of paper loss around the edges of the poster. There were smudges in the light background areas. The person who restored the poster did a good job of touching up the above defects. Overall, the poster looks nice, and the restoration is only noticeable from inches away.
