An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More)

Glorious Betsy, the 1928 Alan Crosland historical biographical France romantic melodrama (based on the true story of Napoleon's brother Jerome, who went to the U.S. and fell in love with a southern belle, and he married her and took her back to France, and Napoleon had the marriage annulled, and sent the belle back to the U.S.) starring Dolores Costello (in the title role as Betsy Patterson), Conrad Nagel (as Jerome Bonaparte), John Miljan, Marc McDermott, and Pasquale Amato (as Napoleon Bonaparte). Note that this movie was a partial talkie and originally had two sound sequences, but while the movie still exists, the sound has been lost. Also note that the play this movie was based on had an artificial happy ending that did not happen in real life. In the play and movie, Betsy returns to France and Jerome runs off with her, and she has his baby!

Important Added Info: Note that there is a stamp on the back that reads "FROM THE COLLECTION OF Michael R. Hawks", who most would consider the premier lobby card collector and expert in the world (and he is still an active collector, looking for the last few items he needs!).

Condition: good to very good. The card is in excellent condition, EXCEPT there are scuffs over the center of the image and a few scattered in the rest of the image (please look at our super-sized image). They are not all that distracting from a reasonable viewing distance, but please bear this in mind before placing a bid on this cool card! Note that this lobby card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back!
