The historic hall has been restored to its original appearance"; "Dawson, New Mexico - An explosion causes a cave-in and 223 miners are buried behind tons of rock, 4,000 feet from human aid. The list of dead is one of the most appalling in the history of mining"; "Santa Cruz, Cal. - A solid wall of flames, six miles wide, sweeps across the Santa Cruz mountains and threatens the lives of hundreds of residents in this district"; "San Francisco, Cal. - Thousands march through crowded streets in the Tortola Festival Parade that is a marvelous display in point of variety and picturesque costumes"; "Denver, Colo. - The first anniversary of the dedication of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception is celebrated with much pomp.
