Artist: Jano Important Added Info: Note that we have previously auctioned several examples of Spanish herald that we thought were from the first Spanish release, but we may have been incorrect. We have now seen a rare Spanish herald with 1954 (the first release date of this movie in Madrid) printed on the front, and Paramount above the art. The other style of herald that we have seen does not have a date printed on the front and mentions Mercurio instead of Paramount, and they have been found with mid-1950s (1955 & 1956) printed on the backs. Heralds were often printed in large batches, and the information on the back can be added months (or even years) after the fronts have been printed. Therefore, we cannot say for sure when the Mercurio heralds were created and it is possible that they are from the continuous Spanish first release. However, we feel it is safest to consider them to be 1950s re-release heralds until we learn more. Also note that when Spanish heralds have printing on the back, we picture both sides, but when they are blank on the back, we only picture the front. Condition: good to very good.
