An Unfolded German Advertising Poster (measures 32 3/4" x 46 3/4" [83 x 119 cm]) (Learn More)

Bei Dir (literally translates to "With You"), the 1953 German poster promoting a magazine, and featuring art of a two smiling women reading the magazine. Note that we (and our consignor) can find very little about this magazine, and it is likely that it did not last long. Also, the magazine seems to be youth-oriented but the back cover of the magazine features art of Frederick II, whom the Nazis glorified and used as a favorable comparison to Hitler. Because of this, his reputation was greatly diminished after World War II (WWII) in both East and West Germany. However, in modern times, Frederick is generally held in high regard, especially for his statesmanship and for his enlightened reforms that positively changed not only Germany, but European society in general, allowing German intellectuals to assert that the revolutions in both France and America were to some extent "belated" attempts to "catch up with Prussia". If anyone knows more about this magazine, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info:

UPDATED 03/04/2019: Note that we have updated the measurements.

Condition: very good. The poster was never folded. It has tape on the back of the top border, which has darkened part of the front of the top blank border. There is slight darkening in the top left corner that slightly affects the edge of the image background. There is a 4" tear in the left of the bottom border that has tape on the back. Otherwise, the poster is in wonderful condition, especially considering its age!
