An Autographed Letter (measures 7 1/4" x 10 1/2" [18 x 27 cm]) (Learn More) Willie Best was an actor from the 1930s to the 1950s, a black African American performer who unfortunately usually was forced to play porters or chauffeurs, usually shuffling, illiterate, and superstitious, thus fitting the standard Hollywood stereotypes of that time. Some of his movies include: Cabin in the Sky, High Sierra, and Dangerous Money. Sadly, he passed away in 1962 at the age of 45. Important Added Info: Note that this letter has been personally autographed (signed) by Willie Best! Note that this is from a collection we were consigned that all came from a man named Ernest Hack, who wrote to celebrities during the 1930s and 1940s. Most of them are entirely handwritten by the celebrities, and while our consignor does not have a certificate of authenticity, we feel certain they are all authentic. As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction. Condition: very good to fine. Learn More about condition grades
