Important Added Info:

Note that this is an amazing special 40" by 60" poster that was created by the "Meloy Bros. Inc" company of Shelbyville, Indiana in 1935 and 1936! This company created special 40" x 60" posters that were distributed to theaters in the Midwest, and are NOT like 40" x 60" posters that were created by the studios at that time. VERY IMPORTANT!CLICK THIS LINK TO READ FULL INFORMATION ABOUT THESE SPECIAL POSTERS (do not bid on this poster until you have read the information on the linked page).

Note that we auctioned a large collection of these posters over the past several years, and this one poster has been re-consigned to us, but otherwise, we have no more of these, and will never have any more (unless others are re-consigned to us!).

Note that this item needs to be shipped in an oversized flat package. Most of these items absolutely can only be sent in flat packages, and could not possibly be rolled into a tube. Some of them might SEEM like they could be rolled in a tube, like a half-sheet, but they can't. The reason these items are in this auction is specifically because they CAN'T be rolled (because rolling any of them would damage them, even if they somehow can be rolled). So please bear in mind that this item must be sent in a LARGE flat package (the size of the package will depend on the size of the item when ready for shipping), and bear this added expense in mind before placing a bid on it. IN THE CASE OF EXTREMELY LARGE FLAT ITEMS, THE SHIPPING COST WILL BE VERY HIGH, SO PLEASE DO NOT BID WITHOUT THINKING ABOUT THAT ADDED SHIPPING AMOUNT, AND INCLUDE THAT AMOUNT IN WHAT YOU BID (so if you would pay $150, but the shipping is likely $100, then only bid $50). And those who live outside the U.S. and who do not have a U.S. address to ship to SHOULD NOT BID AT ALL ON EXTREMELY LARGE FLAT ITEMS, BECAUSE THEY COST HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS TO SEND OUTSIDE THE U.S.

Condition: good. There is surface paper loss and tiny paper loss around the edges of the poster (more so in the corners), and the poster is "lifting" from the board in the corners. There are creases and scuffs scattered throughout the poster, more so in the background areas, but there are a few in the stars' images and their faces (study our super-sized image to see exactly what they are, but they are not very distracting). There are also some other scuffs and smudges throughout the image and some dents and tiny areas of paper loss around the edges of the poster (please study our super-sized image to clearly see the above described defects). Certainly, a talented restorer could perform restoration to this poster, after which the defects would not be very noticeable at all. Please be sure to go to the above link that tells more about the history of these posters, and also tells how it will cost around $120 to send one of these posters within the U.S.!
