Date Sold 12/20/2007Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 13 Original Vintage Promotional Movie Hats (Learn More) This is a lot of 13 Dick Tracy hats, a special promotional item for the film Dick Tracy, the 1990 Warren Beatty detective mystery action crime thriller ("I'm on my way"; "Mind if I call you Dick?"; based on the famous newspaper comic strip by Chester Gould) starring Warren Beatty, Charlie Korsmo, Al Pacino (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film), Madonna, Glenne Headley, Dustin Hoffman, Dick Van Dyke, and James Caan. This lot contains 1 small hat, 1 medium hat, 6 large hats, 4 extra-large hats, and 1 special cloth hat that is of superior quality to the others! Note that the inside brim of every hat has the "Dick Tracy" logo, and the special cloth one also has the cartoon profile of Dick Tracy on the inside of the hat! There is also one special decal that reads "Dick Tracy In Theatres Everywhere Summer 1990" with the cartoon profile image of Dick Tracy as a removable sticker on the other side! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that one of the hats has the original tag which hung from the hat! The tag has a color "peel off decal" on one side, and "DICK TRACY in theaters everywhere summer 1990" on the reverse side. The hat with the tag is made from a different material from the other twelve, which appear to be identical to each other. All thirteen of the hats have a "Dick Tracy" and "c Disney" on the inside of the sweatband. We do not know if these hats were ever sold commercially. The hats we are offering here were given to our consignor (a movie reviewer for a major newspaper) at a special review screening of the movie. Condition: very good to fine. All of the hats appear to be unused, but show minor wear, as they were stored loosely in a box for the past seventeen years. Learn More about condition grades
