Date Sold 11/15/2016Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Autographed 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Randolph Scott was an actor from the 1930s to the 1960s (although he had some uncredited roles in the very late 1920s). He played a wide variety of roles in the 1930s, but later in his career starred mostly in cowboy western movies. He had a very memorable final role in Ride the High Country, opposite Joel McCrea! Some of his other movies include: Seven Men From now, My Favorite Wife, The Tall T, and Ride Lonesome. Most people believe that he was a gay man, but because of the attitudes of the time, he had to "remain in the closet" (and there are some who dispute that he was gay; he was married twice, and had two adopted children, but also lived with Cary Grant for twelve years!). Scott passed away in 1987 at the age of 89. Important Added Info: Note that this still has been personally autographed (signed) by Randolph Scott! Note that this item was consigned to us from the family of Ken Jones, who was an author of books about movies (including books about character actors and western stars). In the course of researching his books, he became friends with many Hollywood actors, and he would ask them to autograph stills for him (originals if he had them, or repros if he did not), and they obliged, usually returning the stills to him with a personalized inscription "To Ken". The family does not have a letter of authenticity for this signed item, but we feel certain it is authentic, given Mr. Jones' personal relationship with the star. Condition: very good to fine.
