Date Sold 5/16/2019 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 8 Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Cards (LCs; measure 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Alfred Hitchcock's Dial M For Murder, the classic 1954 Alfred Hitchcock 3-D (3D; 3-Dimension) romantic love triangle crime murder mystery detective suspense thriller ("...is that you, darling?"; "Written by Frederick Knott who wrote the International Stage Success"; "If a woman answers... hang on for dear life!"; "Is this the man she was waiting for... or the man who was waiting for her?"; "Perfect 3 Dimension in the Hitchcock manner!") starring Ray Milland, Grace Kelly, Robert Cummings (Bob Cummings), John Williams, and Anthony Dawson. Note that, although this movie was filmed in 3-D, none of the original posters mention it at all (there is an explanation in the pressbook that because they know many theaters will not show it in 3-D, "the ads have been designed so that the 3D copy may be eliminated" [and obviously, this is why they did not put 3-D on the posters]). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: good to very good. All but one of the cards have a few pinholes around the edges and none of them have any tape on the back. Card #7 has discoloration at lower left and a small blank border tear at lower center. Card #1 has several scuff marks scattered in portions of the image and a tear at upper center that was once repaired with tape from the back and front. Card #2 has some faint discoloration at lower left and a tear in the lower center blank border. Card #4 has some very faint discoloration at lower left that affects only blank paper. Card #5 has a stray mark in Cumming's cheek and some minor border defects. Card #6 has some slight discoloration at lower right and card #8 has some discoloration at lower left (and at left in portions of the image). Overall, the cards range in condition from "good" to "good to very good", and please see our super-sized images and bear in mind the above written condition defects to get a good sense of the overall condition of this complete set.
