An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Window Card Movie Poster (WC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Romance on the Beat, the 1945 Bud Pollard All American Variety black African American musical ("An All-American streamlined feature!"; "All-Star Colored Cast") starring Ida James (billed as "featuring Ida James the 'Shoo-shoo Baby' Girl"), Lloyd Lionel, Randall Moages, Jimmy Fuller, Hugh Walke, and Tiny Dickerson. Note that Ida James was a "honey-voiced" singer/actress who only appeared in a few movies, but one was a short where she did a duet with Nat King Cole, and another was the classic Hi-De-Ho with Cab Calloway. If anyone knows more about this movie (which was distributed by the All American company, which seems to have pretty much only distributed all black movies and shorts), please e-mail us and we will post it here. Important Added Info: Note that this poster has been trimmed and it now measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]. Obviously, a theater was in need of a lobby card, and didn't have one, so they converted a window card into a lobby card! Fortunately, the central part of the image and the title is there, as well as the most important credits, but do not bid on this poster unless you can accept its defects described above or are willing to pay to have them properly restored. Condition: poor. The poster was heavily trimmed (see above). It also has stains, scratches, and tape.
