An Original Vintage French Softcover Campaign Book (measures 9 1/2" x 12 3/4" [24 x 32 cm]; 36 pages, plus a loose 9 1/2" x 12 1/4" sheet giving the addresses of Pathe theaters in France) (Learn More)

Pathe Natan 1933-34, the 1933 French campaign book, featuring upcoming Pathe French movies and stars from those movies that were planned for production by Pathe in the coming year. Each movie received a one-page ad with a montage of images from that movie, with the exception of Les Miserables, which received a four-page color section in the center of the book, so obviously, that was their biggest release for the year.
Artist: R. de Valerio
Important Added Info: Note that we have never auctioned this campaign book before. Not only that, but all French campaign books from before World War II are unbelievably rare (no doubt for the same reason that French posters from the same time are, which is that there were giant paper shortages in France during World War II). In all our years of auctioning, we have only auctioned a total three French campaign books prior to this set of auctions, and we have two of them in this set of auctions, for a total of five (the other one is in a separate auction).

Condition: good. There is faint staining around the edges of all pages, but they are not stuck together. There is similar staining scattered over the entire back cover and down the spine edge of the front cover, and also in the left 3" of the bottom of the cover. There is a lesser amount of staining in the other borders of the cover, with creases and small paper loss in the top right corner of the cover (see our many images).
