An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41") (Learn More)

Gun Crazy, the 1949 Joseph H. Lewis bad girl crime film noir ("Thrill crazy... Kill crazy..."; "The Flaming Life of Laurie Starr [the lethal blonde]"; "...her violent loves! ...her vicious crimes! ...her wild escapes!"; "Notorious LAURIE STARR! ...wanted in a dozen states... hunted by the F.B.I.!"; "She was more than any man could handle!"; "From The SATURDAY EVENING POST Story by MacKinlay Kantor") starring Peggy Cummins, John Dall, Berry Kroeger, Russ Tamblyn, and Don Beddoe. Note that in 1949 Joseph H. Lewis had released this movie as "Deadly Is the Female". In 1950 he re-titled this movie "Gun Crazy" and gave it a full-scale release under that name. There are posters of all sizes and lobby cards for both titles, and the "Gun Crazy" paper has never been called a "re-release" within the hobby, although technically it is.

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.

Condition: good to very good. There was small paper loss at each crossfold with paper and tape repairs on the front and back of the poster at the center and bottom crossfolds. There are several tape repairs on the back of the poster along the vertical foldline. There are a few enlarged tack holes in the top corners of the poster including some in background areas of the artwork. Other than the above noted defects, the poster's colors are still vibrant and it is in generally nice condition (it was most likely used once and put away and it appears most of the poster's defects have come from handling by collectors!). Surely a professional restorer or talented amateur could linenback this poster and it would display quite nicely with very little paint restoration needed although I can imagine many collectors would be happy to display it as is!
