eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result 7a090 CARROLL BAKER 8x10 transparency 1960s super sexy nude profile portrait clutching fur! Date Sold 6/10/2018Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Photographic Transparency (measures 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm]) (Learn More) Carroll Baker (born Karolina Piekarski) is an actress from the 1950s to the 2000s. She had a tiny part in 1953's "Easy to Love", but that did not lead to anything, and she joined the Actors Studio in New York and got a few Broadway parts before getting her big break in 1956 in "Giant"! Some of her movies include: The Big Country, Giant, Baby Doll (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), How the West Was Won, and Harlow (where she played Jean Harlow!). After the Harlow movie in 1965, when she was 34, and good roles were getting scarce, she moved to Europe where she made some Italian and German movies. In 1982, at the age 51, she married actor Donald Burton, and they remained married until he passed away in 2007. As of 2021, she is still alive at the age of 90! Important Added Info: Note that this transparency does not have a plastic sleeve and was consigned to us in a glassine envelope. It may well have been stored poorly, which would account for the condition defects (see below). It does not have a studio snipe, but we are certain it is from when it was originally made. It seems likely it is from "The Carpetbaggers", but we are not certain. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Note that this is a studio-issued transparency that is produced by the studio but is not the camera original. When a smaller format film was originally used, a larger copy transparency was often made by the studio so that retouching could be added and sent out or used for approved publication purposes. This is a very special auction of 444 extremely rare negatives and transparencies of various sizes. EVERY single one in this auction is either "studio issued" (meaning it was created by the studio and sent to theaters and movie outlets), OR it is a "camera original" (meaning it was the actual negative that was in the camera when the photographer took the picture). Every auction clearly identifies which they are, and there are no items being auctioned that are not either "studio issue" or "camera originals". We have divided them by type and size. Also note that every one of these 444 auctions have had their transparencies and/or negatives scanned expertly. This auction contains that scan with the "eMoviePoster.com" watermark over it. ONLY the winner of this auction will, on request, be sent UNWATERMARKED scan(s) of the items in this auction, which will both save them the time and expense of scanning them themselves, and also allow them to make high quality positive prints of the items they purchased. Condition: fair to good. There are some small areas of discoloration scattered through the transparency, including in Baker's face and body. The color of the transparency has "shifted" from how it originally was. The image can be "color corrected" to look as it originally was, but bear in mind this transparency's defects before bidding on it. Learn More about condition grades
