An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27 1/2" x 41" [70 x 104 cm]) (Learn More)

The Druggist's Dilemma, the 1933 Mark Sandrich comedy short starring Bobby Clark, Paul McCullough, James Finlayson, Cecil Cunningham, and Dick Curtis. Note that this was one of 22 comedy shorts that Clark & McCullough made for RKO (they had been a vaudeville comedy team, starting in 1912, and appeared on Broadway with Irving Berlin before making movies). Sadly, after making their RKO shorts, McCullough became depressed and a couple of years later committed suicide, and Clark retired from the movies, returning to Broadway, and died in 1960, at the age of 71.

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that any movie paper from this comedy short is incredibly rare. We have only previously auctioned one example of this one-sheet (and no other movie paper of any kind), and that was 22 years ago, and that very same poster has been reconsigned to us after all these years, so it is still the only example of this poster we have ever auctioned!

What IS linenbacking? Learn More

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had small paper loss at the middle crossfold and tiny paper loss at the other two crossfolds. It had some creases and tiny bits of paper loss on small parts of other folds. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was well backed, but after it was backed, it came into contact with something in the middle of the right blank border that left residue there (it looks like some sort of tape residue). No doubt it could either be carefully removed, or certainly, it could easily be painted over, and it is solely in the blank border, so it would not show if the poster is framed.
