An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 28" x 41 1/4" [71 x 105 cm]) (Learn More)

Edgar Rice Burroughs' Tarzan's Revenge, the 1938 D. Ross Lederman romantic jungle adventure thriller ("Story by Edgar Rice Burroughs"; "Screen Play by Robert Lee Johnson and Jay Vann") starring Glenn Morris (in the title role as Tarzan), Eleanor Holm (as Jane), George Barbier, C. Henry Gordon, and Hedda Hopper. Note that this movie (produced by Sol Lesser) was essentially a loose remake of the original Tarzan of the Apes story, with characters changing names and an Arab sheik trying to kidnap the female lead. Glenn Morris was an Olympic decathlon champion and Eleanor Holm was an Olympic swimmer, and their lack of acting experience shows. Some have called this the "worst" of the Tarzan movies, and others find it fairly entertaining! It was Glenn Morris' only appearance as Tarzan.

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster's blank borders had been trimmed off. It had an "X" mark over the bottom of Morris' face (in his upper lip and part of his chin). It had small paper loss at the crossfolds and minor wear on the foldlines. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and expert restoration was performed (with the restorer replacing the missing borders, but not faking the small writing at the bottom), and the poster displays well!
