An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded German Movie Poster (measures 35 3/4" x 55 1/4" [91 x 140 cm]) (Learn More)

Anton Der Letzte (released in the U.S. in 1940 as "Anthony the Last"), the 1939 E.W. Emo German/Austrian comedy starring Hans Moser (in the title role as Anton The Butler), Elfriede Datzig, Charlotte Ander, O.W. Fischer (billed as "Otto Wilh. Fischer"), Heinz Salfner, and Gertrud Wolle
Artist: Wem Engelhardt
Important Added Info: Note that we have never auctioned a poster (nor seen any other movie paper) from this movie as "pre-War" movie posters from Germany are virtually nonexistent (it seems likely that most were destroyed during the huge paper shortages that occurred during World War II). As is typical of pre-World War II German posters, the poster has a seal in the printing near one corner which gives the date of "30 SEP 1939")! Note also that this is a rare "country of origin" poster for this German movie!

Condition: good to very good. The poster is in much lesser condition. There are several defects scattered along the edges and foldlines/crossfolds and there are several significant areas of foldline and crossfold separation (the poster is completely separated along the center horizontal fold and is currently in two pieces). The poster paper itself has become somewhat brittle with age, making the poster difficult to handle without creating further fold and edge damage. Please see our super-sized image to get a good sense of the condition of this item prior to placing a bid and please do not bid unless you can accept the defects described above, or you are willing to pay to have them properly restored.
