Date Sold 5/7/2015Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Jumbo Lobby Card (LC; measures 14" x 17" [36 x 43 cm]) (Learn More) So Red The Rose, the 1935 King Vidor historical Civil War romantic melodrama ("The flower of Southern chivalry... dewed with the shining glory of a woman's tears"; "From Stark Young's novel") starring Margaret Sullavan, Walter Connolly, Randolph Scott, Elizabeth Patterson, Janet Beecher, Robert Cummings (in his first real movie after a single uncredited role two years earlier!), Dickie Moore, Clarence Muse, and Charles Starrett. Note that this film performed poorly at the box office, which perpetuated the myth that Civil War films were box office poison (a myth shattered by Gone With The Wind). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this is one of a large collection of jumbo lobby cards we were consigned (it includes some "vertical" star portraits as well). In addition to including many extremely rare titles, many of the jumbo lobby cards are in nice condition (some have staining or paper loss, which is clearly marked when it is present, but almost all the cards are not at all fragile, which is a big plus with this size of movie paper). Condition: very good. There is a vertical crease with tiny paper loss in the upper left border, and a 1/2" tear in the middle of the left border. Otherwise, the card is in really nice condition!
