An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More)

La Belle Russe (literally translates to "The Russian Beauty"), the 1919 Charles Brabin silent World War I (WWI) mistaken-identity romantic melodrama ("The celebrated stage drama by David Belasco"; "A Theda Bara Super Production"; when they say "they don't make 'em like this anymore", they are referring to movies like this!; Bara is a dancer who marries a rich young Englishman; his family disinherits him for doing so, and he enlists in World War I; she becomes pregnant and he is missing and presumed dead; the dead man's family takes back the now pregnant dancer, because she is carrying the sole heir to their family's name; the missing son returns with a friend who identifies the dancer as a notorious French dancer called "La Belle Russe", and the family is shocked, but it turns out that the dancer is not the notorious dancer, but rather her identical twin sister, who had been hoping to kill her sister and take her place!) starring Theda Bara (in a dual role as Fleurette Sackton and La Belle Russe), Warburton Gamble, Marian Stewart, Robert Lee Keeling, and William B. Davidson

Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned three lobby cards from this movie, and this was one of those three cards that has been re-consigned to us, and it certainly has the best image of them. One of the other two cards we auctioned had the same image as this card, but that one was folded down the middle, and this one is not. Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has.

Condition: good to very good. The card has two tiny circular punch holes in the top and a few smudges around the edges. It has a faint V-shaped crease in the center of the background to the right of the image. Otherwise, the card is in nice condition. Note that this lobby card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back!
