An Original Vintage Television Campaign Book (measures 9 1/4" x 12 1/4"; 68 pages) (Learn More) Warner Bros. 1957, the updated promotional book created by AAP in 1957 (a revised edition of their 1956 book; see below) to promote both the feature films and the cartoons that AAP had leased from Warner Bros. and Paramount for TV distribution; see below. First, some background on AAP. AAP (Associated Artists Productions Corp.) was formed in 1955 when a group of studio people joined together and bought the rights to redistribute Warner Bros. classic 1930s and 1940s movies to theaters. This was launched in 1956, and the movies were released under the name "Dominant Pictures". But the movies did not do well in the theaters (likely because people were starting to watch TV more and more), and someone had the great idea to switch the company to instead distribute the Warner Bros. product to television! So in 1956, a hardcover book was sent to television stations in late 1956, so that they could see the Warner Bros. movies AAP could offer them. It includes elaborate ads of the many stars and films available for broadcast on television. Some of the films include: The Fountainhead, Treasure of Sierra Madre, Adventures of Robin Hood, The Roaring Twenties, Key Largo, Dodge City, and many more! That 1956 book has a 3-dimensional Warner Bros. logo in the top right corner of the back cover, and then there was a die-cut area on every single interior page, so that you always see that logo no matter what page you are on. Note that in early 1957, AAP made a deal with Warner Bros. and Paramount to get all of the 337 Warner Bros. cartoons including Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig, etc., and the 234 Popeye cartoons that Paramount had made, and they added to the 1956 book, and printed this 1957 edition, with an additional 12 full-color pages at the back telling about the cartoons they offered. The book offered here is the 1957 version, which includes the additional full-color pages about the cartoons, as described above. Important Added Info: Note that the book we are currently auctioning is the 68-page version, which includes the 12-page full-color section about the Warner Bros. and Paramount cartoons. Note: We have 13 images of the campaign books in this set, but due to a space limitation, only TEN of the 13 images are displayed above. However, there is a "supersize" link to the right of those images that lets you see the other 3. Condition: very good. Learn More about condition grades
