He is totally alone. He is 3,000,000 light years from home."; "Written by Melissa Mathison"; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award) starring Dee Wallace, Peter Coyote, Henry Thomas ("as Elliott"), Drew Barrymore (in her second movie role!), and Robert MacNaughton NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster is a real mystery to us. It measures 40" x 60", but a U.S. 40x60 would have had blank borders, and this poster is "full bleed". It has no printer information at the bottom, and nothing really for us to go on. It was consigned to us by a collector in New Zealand, and it has a New Zealand rating sticker attached to the bottom right, indicating that it was surely "theater-used". It MAY be a special U.S. poster, but it could be from another country (but it would almost surely be an English-speaking one, because it is entirely in English). In addition, we have never seen this specific image (which is like the fingers style, but without the fingers, and the far off planet in the top right is colored differently!). It seems to surely be by John Alvin, but the art is not signed. If anyone knows more about this poster or has ever seen or heard of another one, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Condition: fair. There is a 30" jagged tear that runs above the bottom horizontal fold. Towards the end of it, it extends into the right end of the tagline (in the "r" of "from"). There is an 8" jagged tear in the right of the bottom border. There are two areas of paper loss in the top of the middle foldline, with tears next to the paper loss at the top center crossfold. There are many creases and scuffs along the foldlines, and scattered in the poster. There is a rating snipe glued to the bottom right corner. Obviously, the poster has many real defects, but after proper linenbacking and restoration, the poster can look great. But please do not bid on this poster unless you can accept its defects described above or are willing to pay to have them properly restored! Learn More about condition grades
