Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures approximately 3" x 4") (Learn More) Up or Down, the 1917 Lynn Reynolds silent cowboy western starring George Hernandez, Fritzi Ridgeway, John Gilbert, and Elwood Bredell. Note that John Gilbert was billed as "Jack Gilbert" in this movie (which is how he was billed in movies at this time). He had uncredited roles in 1915 and then had credited roles in 1916, but he still spent the next several years not achieving major stardom. One of his first major roles was in 1922 when he starred in an early version of "The Count of Monte Cristo". Of course, he would become a top star of the mid 1920s, and then he would co-star with a very young Greta Garbo, and the rest, as they say, is history! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline). Condition: very good to fine. As is typical with older glass slides, this slide has no holder, but has black tape around all the edges of the glass. There is some "fogging" on the top of the glass, slightly extending into the top edge of the writing. See below fo Learn More about condition grades
