Daybreak, the 1931 Jacques Feyder Vienna Austria military-man-on-leave pre-Code romantic gambling melodrama ("He gambled away everything - but won Love!"; from the novel by Arthur Schnitzler; a wild story of an Austrian military officer who spends a night with an innocent young girl, and he leaves her the next morning with money on the table, and that experience leads her to become the mistress of a wealthy man; as fate would have it, the officer begins gambling with the wealthy man, and ends up owing him a huge amount of money, and he must find a way to repay the money and to get the girl free of the wealthy man, because he feels responsible for her situation) starring Ramon Novarro, Helen Chandler (best remembered for her role in 1931's "Dracula", which she made right before this movie), Jean Hersholt, C. Aubrey Smith, William Bakewell, and Glenn Tryon
