An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures 3 1/4" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More) The Piper's Price, the 1917 Joseph De Grasse silent romantic love triangle melodrama ("Based on the story of the same name by Mrs. Wilson Woodrow") starring Dorothy Phillips, Maude George, Lon Chaney Sr. (billed as "Lon Chaney"), Claire Du Brey, and William Stowell NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we can't say for certain that the man in this image is Lon Chaney Sr.. If it is him, it is certain that he was made to look as good as possible! But this movie is a romantic love triangle, and he is the top billed man. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). This slide is the kind that has two panes of glass that are taped together with black tape around all four edges (front and back), typical of many older glass slides. We have provided a high quality scan of the image, but we have not taken a photo of the slide, because there would really be very little to see! Condition: good to very good. The black tape is missing from the left and right borders. The theater that used this slide wrote the days the movie was playing in the play dates section at the bottom of the glass.
