A Matted Original Vintage Autographed Magazine Cover (measures 8 1/2" x 11" [22 x 28 cm]; entire display measures 10 1/2" x 13") (Learn More) Chris Kraft was an American aerospace engineer and NASA engineer and manager from the 1940s to 1980s. He was instrumental in establishing NASA's Mission Control operation, and later consulted for IBM and writing his autobiography. Kraft served as flight director during all six of the crewed Mercury missions, and was greatly involved with NASA for many years. Kraft passed away in 2019 at the age of 95. Important Added Info: Note that this magazine cover has been personally autographed (signed) by Chris Kraft! Note that this is one of a wonderful collection of 36 items that were assembled by a collector decades ago, mostly from RR Auctions, which has auctioned signed items since 1976. The person who purchased these items passed away several years ago, and while he did not save most of the certificates of authenticity he received when he bought these signed items, almost all were purchased between the late 1970s and the early 1990s, and we think it is extremely likely that the autograph on this item is genuine. In our last auction, we auctioned around 90 items from this same consignor. Now we are auctioning the last of this wonderful collection, and after this, there will be no more left to auction! As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction. On non-signed items, we give a "lifetime guarantee" on everything we auction, but on signed items, we give the above modified guarantee of 30 days after the auction closes. Condition: good to very good. The magazine cover had been tri-folded and had many creases and some tiny border paper loss. Someone attached it to a board with a single piece of tape on the back of the top of the magazine cover so that it could be framed, but of course, one could easily remove it from the board and display it a different way.
