An Original Vintage 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] News Photo (Learn More)

Times Square, the 1967 8x10 news still featuring a night time image of New York City's 42nd Street and 8th Avenue including several movie theaters such as the Harris, Liberty and Empire which were showing movies including Murderer's Row, The Desperado Trail, The Hunters, The Great Spy Mission, The Professionals, and Attempt to Kill. Note that the snipe on the photo describes how Times Square had been "The Great White Way" in the 1920s to 1940s, but by 1967, it was "a jam of neon lighted restaurants, amusement centers of questionable attractions", and movie theaters that are open all night, and that it is a "place frequented by the undesirable"! Also note that visible is "Hubert's Museum Circus", which consisted of a "flea circus" (literally trained fleas), plus arcade games, which had been a mainstay of Times Square for decades, but which soon went out of business!

Condition: very good. There are some tiny creases around the edges of the photo.
