The Regeneration of Worthless Dan, the 1912 Harry A. Pollard silent mistaken identity cowboy western crime short ("Dan listens to the tempter"; about a horse thief who takes in a baby boy that soon dies; but eighteen years later he meets a young man who is the same age as the baby who died, and he decides to trick the mother of the dead baby into thinking that the young man is her long lost son, and at first the young man goes along with it, but he can't keep on doing so) starring Margarita Fischer, and R. Henry Grey (in the title role as Dan).

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that one-sheet posters from before 1919 are generally incredibly rare. But ones from before 1915 are beyond rare. It seems that the very first "regular one-sheets" were made around 1914, although some from small studios have turned up from earlier years. THIS one-sheet is the earliest one-sheet we have ever auctioned from a major studio (Universal), and we have only auctioned one one-sheet from 1911 from a lesser studio, so this really is an amazing find and deserves to be in a museum! Also note that this one-sheet measures 28" x 42" [71 x 107 cm].

Condition: very good. The poster has a 3" vertical tear in the right of the bottom of the image that has a tiny piece of tape on the back of the bottom of the tear. It has separation in the vertical foldline between the top and bottom crossfolds. It has creases in the top of the right blank border with some tiny tears and tiny paper loss scattered in parts of the right blank border. Given that the poster is well over a century we old we feel it is in remarkable condition and it is amazing that it has survived at all!
