An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Pressbook (measures 10 1/2" x 17"; 8 pages). Also included is a second pressbook that has 4 pages (with the new U.S. title printed throughout) (Learn More) Hot Summer Week (released in the U.S. as "Girls on the Road"), the 1972 Thomas J. Schmidt Canadian teen crime thriller ("Two beautiful girls, alone on their first vacation... until they picked up a hitchhiker... and then murder and death were their companions.") starring Dianne Hull, Michael Ontkean, Ralph Waite, John McMurtry, and Kathleen Cody (billed as "introducing Kathleen Cody"). Note that this Canadian movie was initially set to be released in the U.S. under its original title, but (apparently at the last minute) the movie was re-titled "Girls on the Road" and all new advertising material with the new title was prepared. Also note that the above information has never made it to the Internet Movie Database, which lists these are two entirely separate movies, even though they are identical in every way, other than the title! Important Added Info: Note that in this auction we are offering the U.S. pressbook with the original Canadian title, and also the U.S. pressbook that has the changed title, "Girls on the Road". Also note that pressbooks were prepared prior to a movie being released. Often, changes would be made in a movie advertising campaign (billing of actors, different images, etc.), and the theaters would print up special supplements that they would send out with the pressbooks that had already been printed. These supplements are very rare, far more rare than the pressbooks themselves! Some pressbooks would have no supplements, some would have one, and some would have several. Condition: very good.
