An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More)

No Contest, the 1934 Joseph Henabery Broadway radio musical competition short ("A Broadway Brevities") starring Ruth Etting, Charles Lawrence, Elmer Brown, Bert Matthews, Betty Jane Cooper, and the Lathrop Brothers. If the name "Ruth Etting" is familiar to you, it is likely because you have seen "Love Me or Leave Me", the biography about her, which was made in 1955 starring Doris Day as Etting and James Cagney as her gangster boyfriend.
NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
Important Added Info: Note that first release 1934 movie paper from this short is incredibly rare. We have never auctioned even a single movie paper item from this short until we received this lobby card! In addition, we have only had lobby cards from her feature film, "Roman Scandals", but none from any of the other 32 shorts she appeared in. Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has.

Condition: good to very good. There is a tiny brown stain in the background to the right of the woman's head, with a few even tinier brown dot stains scattered in the top background area. There is tiny paper loss in the center of the right blank border and a stain in the lower left blank border. There are a few faint smudges and scuffs around the edges, with a 1" tear at top center. There is pencil scribbling on the back of the card, but it has no effect on the front. See our super-sized images to get a good sense of the condition of this card.
