An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Style B One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 28 1/4" x 40 3/4" [72 x 104 cm]) (Learn More)

Humoresque, the 1920 Frank Borzage silent romantic World War I (WWI) musical prodigy melodrama (based on the novel by Fannie Hurst; about a Jewish woman in New York City who prays that her son will become a musical prodigy, and he does, but he gets mixed up with a woman, and enlists in World War I, and his arm is injured, and he can't play the violin anymore, but when he tells his girlfriend they can't marry, she faints and he catches her, which restores the use of his arm!) starring Alma Rubens, Vera Gordon, Gaston Glass, Dore Davidson, and Bobby Connelly. Note that this movie was remade in 1946, with Joan Crawford and John Garfield in the lead roles, but much of the hokey elements of the original story were thrown out!

Important Added Info: Note that ANY movie paper from this movie is incredibly rare. We have only previously auctioned a half-sheet, a lobby card, and a glass slide from this movie until we received this one-sheet! Also note that this one-sheet measures 28 1/4" x 40 3/4" [72 x 104 cm].

What IS linenbacking? Learn More

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and some tiny tears and tiny bits of paper loss on parts of some folds. It had diagonal creases slightly to the right of the top and bottom quarters of the vertical fold. It had some pinholes and tears around the edges. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well!
