An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures approximately 3" x 4") (Learn More)

The Greatest Thing In Life, the 1918 D.W. Griffith silent World War I (WWI) romantic melodrama ("Personally Directed by D.W. Griffith"; "Story by Capt. Victor Marier"; about a New York City girl who goes to France to find love, but, after misadventures, she realizes the error of her ways) starring David Butler, Lillian Gish, Robert Harron, Peaches Jackson, and Adolph Lestina. Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist.

Important Added Info: Note that director D.W. Griffith was such a major attraction in 1918 that HIS image was used to sell the movie on this glass slide! The slide does not have a cardboard holder, but rather there is black tape around all four edges (front and back), typical of older glass slides. When we auction slides that have a cardboard holder, we provide a separate image of how the cardboard holder looks, but when we auction slides with the black tape (like this one) we only provide the scan of the glass slide image, because that really is about all there is to see.

Condition: good to very good. There is much smudging and staining on the front and back of the glass, but it looks like it could be easily cleaned off, and otherwise, the slide is in pretty nice condition!
