An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Brotherhood Week was a national event which started in 1936 and was organized by the National Conference for Christians and Jews (NCCJ - later to be renamed to National Conference for Community and Justice). The event was widely celebrated up to the 1950s, and was created with the aim of combating intolerance (mainly religious intolerance). The NCCJ first created a traveling roadshow called the "Tolerance Trio" (consisting of a priest, a minister and a rabbi). This proved to be popular, which lead to Brotherhood Day in the early 1930s and finally Brotherhood Week in 1936. The event started to fade away in the 1960s and by the early 2000s it was canceled. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: UPDATED 12/29/2010: Note that a knowledgeable collector pointed out that the American flag on this poster has 48 stars instead of the current 50. Based on this, we believe this poster is probably from the 1950s and not the 1970s as we initially listed. Condition: good to very good. There is separation in the top of the vertical foldline and at some of the ends of the other foldlines. The poster is otherwise in generally nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
