5 Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Cards (LCs; measure 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More)

Outrages of the Orient, the 1948 Carlos Vander Tolosa & William H. Jansen Indian/Filipino World War II (WWII) military Japanese atrocities melodrama starring Linda Estrella, Fernando Royo, Mona Lisa, Teddy Benavides, Alma Rosa Aguirre, and Bimbo Danao. Note that this is a very mysterious movie! The above information comes from IMDB, but the earliest newspaper ads that we can find for the film are from 1950. IMDB also says that the movie was re-released as "The Beasts of the East" in 1959, and yet we found newspaper ads for that title from 1950 as well. Another source says that "Outrages of the Orient" is edited together from the 1948 films "Sunset Over Corregidor" and "He Promised to Return", both Filipino movies that share some stars and a director with "Outrages of the Orient". This may be true as we have seen a newspaper ad for "He Promised to Return" with art of a Japanese man that matches the photo on the "Outrages of the Orient" one-sheet. Finally, we have seen a window card with the title "Terrors of Invasion" which has images that match stills from "Outrages of the Orient" but we cannot find newspaper ads or other information about that title. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
