An Original Vintage Theater-Used Bell & Howell Cinemascope (Anamorphic) Projection Lens (measures approximately 8" long and 5" in diameter) (Learn More) CinemaScope is an anamorphic lens series from 1953 to 1967 (and less often later) which was used for shooting widescreen films that could be screened in theaters using existing equipment with a lens adapter. CinemaScope was created by Spyros P. Skouras, the president of 20th Century Fox, and marked the beginning of the modern anamorphic format. Although CinemaScope technology is obsolete, its anamorphic format is still used today. Bausch & Lomb won a 1954 Oscar for its development of the CinemaScope lens. Condition: good to very good. There is some fungus on the inside of the lens elements and there are some fine scratches on the outside of the lens elements.
