An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 28 1/4" x 42 3/4" [72 x 109 cm]) (Learn More) Our Delinquent Children, the late 1940s/early 1950s sexploitation movie ("On our stage - in person Lewis A. Banner"; "Mother bring your daughter"; "Father bring your son"; "Adults only"; "A timely warning to parents of today."). Note that the only poster we have ever auctioned from this movie is a circa 1950 stock one-sheet, which was also used for 1930s sexploitation movies. Because we could not find this movie in any reference database, we think it is quite likely it is a re-titling of an earlier movie with a different name (likely a "sex education" film, because the poster mentioned above references a lecture given together with the movie, and that there were separate showings for males and females, which was commonly done with sex education movies of this time). A strong candidate for which movie it is would be 1934's "Road to Ruin", which was a sound added version of a 1928 silent movie of the same name, and which was advertised with posters similar to this. If anyone knows more about any of this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that, as noted above, this poster is the only poster we have ever auctioned with this title. We have seen a different stock poster that has the same image as this, but it has a different title printed into the central title area (Human Wreckage), and it has play dates at the top and no reference to a lecturer. A collector contacted us and told us he has a poster with this image with the title "Cocaine the Thrill that Kills". He also found a newspaper ad for "Our Delinquent Children" from exactly 1950, making it likely this poster dates very close to that year. Also note that this one-sheet measures 28 1/4" x 42 3/4" [72 x 109 cm].
UPDATED 06/03/2019: Note that we have updated the Important Added Info section. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had ink smudges in the bottom center of the yellow box, surely a printing defect. It had a few in the lower image of the woman and the tagline below it, surely also a minor printing defect. It had a few tears around the edges. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above. Learn More about condition grades
